Terraces are beautiful, a flashback…

Today I went to the terrace of our old apartment where I spent the first 15 years of my life. The wall grabbed my attention, it had wickets drawn on it…

Flashback moment, cut to childhood days, roof was such a place of entertainment and fun, I also drew wickets like that on the roof walls (and many of you must have done the same, you will connect with this) and played cricket, till today it works the same, I guess kids there play the same way we did and they draw these wickets. Although the biggest challenge of playing cricket on rooftop is that the ball used to fly off the guard walls of the roof. Ah, speaking about that, those walls used to seem huge back then and we kids used to peep over the walls by standing on our toes and pulling the body with support of our hands.

From cycling to playing cricket, from celebrating Diwali to playing hide and seek, from getting soaked in the rain to overseeing the green neighborhood, from observing the night sky to having oranges in cold winter afternoons or going there just like that without any reason, the terrace had so many flavours… Terraces are beautiful and I guess they are so underrated, these days many societies don’t allow people to go to the terrace… But I want you to just ponder over all good times you had on your terraces, isn’t it a really special place?
